Work on what
needs your attention.
Every custom engagement begins with a conversation about your goals, the work involved, and the support you need. A proposal defines the deliverables, preparation, time, and fee.
See the practice
at work.
An onsite half-day or full-day engagement can focus on intake, billing workflows, technology, staff responsibilities, and the way work moves through your office. The proposal specifies advance preparation, the visit, follow-up recommendations, and any travel.
Prepare. Rehearse.
Refine.
Focused support can include rehearsing openings or closings, organizing examination plans and exhibits, refining delivery, and developing preparation routines. The scope defines Ralph’s role and any case-specific review before work begins.

Choose with clarity.
A free 15-minute introductory call helps us understand your stage and identify the right service. It is an opportunity to discuss fit and scope.
Detailed planning, individual coaching, document review, and preparation take place in paid engagements. You can discuss a monthly package directly; a separate paid diagnostic is not a prerequisite.
Law students are welcome to discuss mentoring needs and future plans, even before they are ready to launch a firm.

Support for the lawyer
you are becoming.
There is no single starting point for coaching. You may be approaching admission, finding your footing in practice, preparing for independence, or developing a stronger presence in the courtroom. The engagement begins with the decisions in front of you.
Build your professional foundation.
Talk through career direction, professional relationships, work habits, and the practical questions that follow admission. Practice Foundations offers a structured 90-day setting to choose priorities and review progress.
Ask the questions behind the title.
Discuss unfamiliar expectations, finding practical guidance, developing a professional network, and becoming comfortable asking for support. Ralph brings his own experience as a first-generation attorney who opened a practice immediately after admission.
Make space for preparation and growth.
Work on professional confidence, courtroom presentation, client communication, and the business routines supporting your practice. Custom trial-preparation coaching can provide a defined setting for rehearsal and feedback.
Plan for a different set of responsibilities.
Bring your experience from a firm, government role, or other organization and examine what your own practice will require. Launch and ownership coaching focuses on your business priorities, support needs, and operating plan.
Focused sessions.
Work between them.
A coaching relationship gives you a recurring place to examine decisions and return to your priorities. The value comes from the conversation and from what you choose to put into practice between sessions.
The monthly packages include one 90-minute kickoff, five 45-minute follow-up sessions, a written 90-day action plan, and one brief email check-in each week. Custom projects are defined separately.
Set the agenda.
Identify your goals, your immediate questions, and the decisions that would make the engagement useful. Agree on priorities suited to the package or proposal.
Return with context.
Bring progress, obstacles, and new information to the next session. Where review is included, agree on the materials and preparation needed in advance.
Make the scope clear.
Substantial document review, drafting, onsite visits, hands-on implementation, and trial-preparation work are separately scoped. A custom proposal specifies what is included and the fee.
Before we begin.
Can coaching help while I am still employed by a firm?
Yes. You can discuss your goals for an independent practice, identify the support and infrastructure you would need, and organize a transition plan. Questions about departure obligations or a specific legal issue should be addressed with the appropriate adviser.
Can we work on forms, motions, or trial preparation?
These needs can be discussed when defining your engagement. General practice organization can be part of a coaching conversation; case-specific preparation, substantial document review, and drafting require a separately agreed scope. The free introductory call is for goals, fit, and next steps.
How are onsite visits arranged?
Start with a conversation about the process or business question you want to address. A custom proposal identifies the half-day or full-day visit, advance preparation, agreed deliverables, follow-up, fees, and any travel.
Does the introductory call enroll me in a package?
No. The free 15-minute call is an opportunity to meet Ralph and discuss suitable services. Enrollment, the 90-day commitment, or a custom engagement is a separate step.
